Fifth and sixth Beatles honored with Grammys [Posted by Dave Haber on Monday, 02/11/08 10:31 am] [Full Blog] [Tweet This]The 50th Annual Grammy Awards were handed out at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last night, and the music of the Fab Four was not forgotten.
In the Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media category, the winner was Love, the Cirque de Soleil Las Vegas show soundtrack produced by George and Giles Martin.

Also nominated in this same Grammy category was the soundtrack album for the Across The Universe film.
The Grammy for Best Surround Sound Album also went to Love, and was presented to Paul Hicks, surround mix engineer, Tim Young, surround mastering engineer and George Martin and Giles Martin, surround producers.
The Love CD was released on EMI/Capitol on November 2, 2006. The Cirque de Soleil Love show premiered at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas on June 30, 2006.
