Fab Fan Christmas wish-list: Beatles Monopoly game [Posted by Dave Haber on Monday, 11/17/08 7:56 pm] [Comments] [Full Blog] [Tweet This]Earlier this month it was announced that the Beatles would be coming to the Rock Band video game. This was great news for younger Beatles fans, but for people who grew up listening to the Beatles, there's also a Beatles game that's a little more traditional.
The Beatles Collector's Edition of Monopoly is like the Monopoly board game you know, love and remember, except in this one, instead of building a financial and real estate empire, you build your own musical anthology by collecting all the Beatles albums from Please, Please Me through Let It Be.
Players travel around the board with six collectable pewter tokens created especially for this version of the game. Pictured above, they are, from top to bottom and left to right, Here Comes The Sun, Octopus's Garden, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Rocky Raccoon, Strawberry Fields Forever and I Am The Walrus.
In the Beatles edition, the Community Chest and Chance cards are now called Beatlemania and The Fab Four. Concert tickets like Shea Stadium and Candlestick Park replace the traditional railroads. Whoever has collected all the albums after everyone has gone bankrupt wins!
The Beatles Collector's Edition of Monopoly, the first board game ever licensed by the Beatles, is available at Barnes & Noble, JC Penny, Borders and Amazon.com .
