The Beatles performed their hit songs on musical and variety TV shows too numerous to mention throughout the sixties, in England and around the world. But did you know that The Beatles appeared on Doctor Who?
On May 22, 1965, the Beatles were seen in the episode of Dr. Who entitled "The Executioners."
This episode featured the "Time-Space Visualiser," a television-like souvenir they had picked up on a recent adventure at a Space Museum. The Time-Space Visualiser could pick up on any event in the whole of time and space, and one of the things they see on it is the Beatles performing "Ticket to Ride." One of the characters is surprised that the Beatles are playing what she calls "classical music."
Dr. Who originally ran on the BBC from 1963 to 1989, and is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world.
