Update: Good news for Boston-area Macca fans [Posted by Dave Haber on Tuesday, 06/23/09 2:43 pm] [Full Blog] [Related Posts] [Tweet This]It's looking almost sure now that Paul McCartney will be performing live at Fenway Park in Boston this August.
Over the weekend, a Beatles News reader commented that Red Sox season ticket holders have received a letter concerning a pre-sale this week for the purchase of tickets to two concerts on August 5 and 6 by "the Artist" unnamed, pending final arrangements.
Now today, The Boston Globe says that Paul will indeed perform at Fenway Park Aug. 5 and 6, and an official announcement could come tomorrow. They report that Boston Mayor Tom Menino's Office of Consumer Affairs and Licensing held a public hearing Monday night, and director Patricia Malone is expected to have something to say about the shows today.
Paul has already announced plans to perform live at Citi Field in New York on July 17, 18, and 19, and FedEx Field in Washington, D.C. on August 1.
