George Harrison annual birthday tribute tomorrow in Hollywood
[Posted by Julian McKenzie on Wednesday, 02/24/10 9:23 am] [Full Blog] [Tweet This]George Harrison will be remembered at a public birthday celebration tomorrow, Thursday, February 25, 2010, starting at 6:00 PM, at George's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of Capitol Records Tower Building, 1750 N. Vine Street, Hollywood.
Fans of George Harrison are invited to bring flowers and birthday message cards to place around the star, and to participate in a birthday cake cutting ceremony to remember and honor the late legendary singer, songwriter and Beatles member.
Live and taped George Harrison and Beatles songs will be played at the event, and fans are invited to perform their own music, poetry and spoken word tributes. Radio host Chris Carter of Breakfast With the Beatles on 95.5 KLOS in Los Angeles will lead the children at the event in lighting the candles and cutting the specially decorated cake.
George Harrison was born February 25, 1943 in the Hunts Cross area of Liverpool and passed away on November 29, 2001 in Los Angeles after a long bout with cancer.
The event is being sponsored by the Alliance for Survival peace group. For further information call (310) 399-1000.
