Rumor: McCartney to reclaim Wings songs rights from EMI
[Posted by Julian McKenzie on Tuesday, 03/16/10 11:06 pm] [Full Blog] [Tweet This]

According to Bloomberg, and as of yet reprinted nowhere else, Paul McCartney is poised to take back the rights to his songs and those of his band Wings from the music company EMI. The Mail on Sunday newspaper in the UK reported this last Sunday, without saying where it got the information.

The report in the Daily Mail added that while Paul would regain rights to his later work, EMI would retain the rights to the back catalogue of The Beatles.

So far, we can find no other substantiation of this report, although it is undoubtedly related to EMI's current financial turmoil, as we've been reporting over the last several days. Stay tuned to Beatles News, we will post it as more becomes available on this story.
