Discovering L.A.'s hidden Beatles history [Posted by Dave Haber on Tuesday, 10/05/10 1:01 pm] [Full Blog] [Tweet This]Last weekend, I tagged along with Gillian Lomax on her Magical History Tour of Los Angeles. I have lived in Los Angeles for more than thirty years, I've been a Beatles fans since the day they were on the Ed Sullivan show, and I'm in "The Beatles Biz." But I must admit, Gillian's tour taught me things about the Beatles history of L.A. that even I didn't know.
No place in the U.S. has as much Beatles history as Los Angeles, and Gillian has spent a lot of time researching her tour. The tour stops at several important sites, and she narrates about the various locations as she drives.

I don't want to give away all the surprises, but I can tell you that even if you're a "native" Los Angelino like me, Gillian's tour will take you places you've never been and some places you pass by every day and didn't know they were part of L.A.'s Beatles heritage, both things of the past, related to John and George, and places in L.A. where Beatles Paul and Ringo can still be found today.
But the best part of the tour for me was sharing it all with Gillian and the other Beatles fans who were on the tour. Each of GIllian's tours is a small, intimate group, making the Magical History Tour a personal experience you'll remember for a long time.
This weekend is John Lennon's 70th birthday, and Gillian is taking out a special John Lennon celebration tour this Saturday. She already has some fans committed for this tour, but can always fit in a few more. If you'd like to go along, you can make a reservation on Gillian's website, www.amagicalhistorytour.com.
