Rare signed Liverpool Echo Beatles edition up for auction [Posted by Adam Forrest on Thursday, 05/10/12 6:14 pm] [Full Blog] [Tweet] [Facebook]A copy of the Liverpool Echo newspaper signed by John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison will feature at the PFC Auctions May sale in Guernsey, England. The newspaper is from February 22/23, 1964, following The Beatles' return to England after their first tour of America.
The paper includes an insert "The Beatles in America" which features photographs of The Beatles in Central Park, in Washington, D.C. and on Miami Beach, as well as photos showing the band on The Ed Sullivan Show and arriving at London Airport on February 22, 1964.
Auction spokesperson Kylie Whitehead said, "This unique piece of memorabilia beautifully captures Liverpool's pride and admiration for The Beatles. This is a delightful set of signatures that we are sure will excite Beatles collectors around the world."
Online bidding at www.pfcauctions.com will end at 7:30pm BST on May 24, 2012.
