Fans to remember John Lennon in Hollywood [Posted by Adam Forrest on Thursday, 12/06/12 4:02 pm] [Full Blog] [Tweet] [Facebook]A free-to-the-public "John Lennon Remembrance" will take place on Saturday, December 8 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at John's Walk of Fame Star in Hollywood. A special candle lighting ceremony around Lennon's star will be led by Chris Carter, radio host of Breakfast with the Beatles.
Lennon and Beatles fans are invited to perform music and poetry, and to bring candles and flowers to place at the star. Fans are also invited to talk about things they are now doing, have done, or plan to do in their school or community to help further John's "Give Peace a Chance" message.
Although the remembrance will take place on the anniversary of Lennon's tragic December 8,1980 death, the public gathering is meant as a time to celebrate the life, spirit, and music of the legendary singer, songwriter, peace activist, and Beatles member.
John's Hollywood Walk of Fame Star located at 1750 N. Vine Street in front of the Capitol Records Tower Building. For further information contact Jerry Rubin at 310-399-1000 or e-mail JerryPeaceActivistRubin@earthlink.net. Also, check out Chris Carter at BreakfastWithTheBeatles.com.
