|Macca's wobbly start doesn't mar concert|

According to Beatlefan's Fan on the Run Rick Glover, any time you hear Paul McCartney say "so we're gonna take that solo again" during a concert, you know things are a bit wobbly. But that is what Macca told the crowd in the sold-out Scottrade Center in St. Louis after mistakes made during "And I Love Her," Rick says in his reviews of Paul's shows in St. Louis and Houston in the latest issue of Beatlefan Magazine.
Not the only thing that was a little wobbly during the first tour date in the U.S. this year, a jerky transition during "Jet," several flubbed lines during "Long and Winding Road" and either Paul coming back to the chorus early, or the band coming in late, during "Band on the Run" caused Paul to remark that it had been six months since the last "proper" gig. However, Rick says in his Beatlefan review, a few hiccups didn't prevent the show from being a stellar return to the U.S. stage for McCartney and Company.
Also in this latest issue of Beatlefan, Bruce Spizer looks back 50 years at the release of The Beatles' "Please Please Me" single, Howie Edelson and Beatles author Robert Rodriguez discuss the "Revolver" album, a teacher recounts what it's like to teach The Beatles to fifth-graders, our Apple Delight feature is on Doris Troy and Jeff Slate serves up another conversation with Jeff Lynne.
In addition, Robert Rodriguez recounts a listening session for The Beatles' vinyl reissues on high-end equipment, Kit O'Toole discusses the revamping of the McCartney Website, and the Beatlefan Reviews section has nearly five pages on the latest in books, video, television, recordings and photo exhibitions.
A sample issue for Beatlefan costs $7 in the U.S. or $8 abroad. Be sure to specify #199 if you want the latest issue. To subscribe or for more info, visit www.beatlefan.com or call 404-713-6432.
