John Lennon, the late legendary singer, songwriter, Beatles member and peace activist, who was murdered on December 8,1980 by a lone assassin gunman, will be remembered and honored 35 years after his tragic death at a "John Lennon 35th Annual Public Tribute and Memorial Remembrance" to be held at his Hollywood Walk of Fame Star on December 8.
The featured speaker at the event will be Suzanne Verge, President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence Los Angeles Chapter.
Fans of Lennon are invited to bring candles and flowers to place around Lennon's star. Lennon and Beatles songs will be played during the event. An "open mic" will be set up for fans to perform songs and poetry, as well as to share their personal reflections.

Event organizers say the 35th anniversary public remembrance is not meant as a time for mourning, but more as a time to celebrate Lennon's life, music and 'give peace a chance' message.
The event is being sponsored by the Alliance for Survival peace group, which has been organizing annual public Lennon birthday and memorial events for the past 35 years. The public gathering will take place from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 8. Lennon's star is located in front of the Capitol Records Tower Building at 1750 Vine Street in Los Angeles.
