Beatles insider tells fans how to really know the Beatles

Last night, Beatles insider and close friend Freda Kelly appeared for a Q&A at a screening of the documentary about her, Good Ol' Freda, at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills. Freda's appearance was in conjunction with the Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach auction happening this week at Julien's. Also accompanying Freda at the Q&A were documentary's producer Kathy McCabe and its director Ryan White.

The screening of the documentary was well received by everyone in attendance. At the Q&A after the screening, surrounded by uncountable, stunning items of Ringo's memorabilia, Freda let everyone in a personal little story that she didn't share in the documentary.

While answering a question about her personal relationship with the Beatles in the sixties, Freda shared that she feels sort of bad for Americans, because we never knew them the way the Liverpool fans did, as we only saw them in concert and on TV, not close-up in person the way fans saw them in the early days at The Cavern.

Then she added, as she addressed the fans, if you want to know what the Beatles were really like, watch the film A Hard Day's Night. Besides being a great, fun to watch film, even though it was scripted, Freda said that it truly shows their personalities and what they were really like in their off time, just hanging out with their friends. Coming from someone like Freda who was truly their friend as well as treated like family by the Beatles' families, fans can now watch that film with an important and significant new insight.
