Ringo says Backbeat got the Beatles sound right

Ringo Starr said Backbeat got the sound of The Beatles exactly right. Writer and director Iain Softley says, "What I wanted was to recreate the impact these guys had on the people that saw them. We just picked musicians who had a similar attitude, Dave Grohl from Nirvana, Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth and Mike Mills from REM." [More...]
