The Beatles Books...A Long and Winding Road of literature
Beatles Books: From Genesis to Revolution, is a jaw-dropping bibliography on 1400 of the published titles, by musician W. Fraser Sandercombe, also author of The Beatles: The Press Reports 1960 – 1970 and Beatlemania Forever: The Beatles Encyclopedia. I put all three of these books on my A List for Beatles collectors. [More...] Comments: Actually, I would include *this* book in the list of "dreadful tomes that miss the mark". No colour pictures, around ten bookname/ISBN/one-sentence descriptions per page, and typically one (or less) postage stamp sized black-and-white book cover images per page. I was so looking forward to this book that I pre-ordered it on Amazon (I usually wait for user comments to come in before deciding to order), and I won't be pre-ordering another book any time soon. Go to Amazon, do a search on "Beatles" in the book section, and print out the results - you'll save yourself $20 or more, and the result be more informative AND in colour!
