Art award dedicated to memory of Liverpool-born artist Joe Bampton

Organizers are honored to announce that the 2013 Liverpool Art Prize "People's Choice Award" will be presented in fond memory of the Liverpool born artist, Joe Bampton. The Award, whose winner is announced at 6pm on Wednesday 29th May is presented alongside the main award for Liverpool Art Prize 2013.

New Beatles insider book launches in Liverpool tomorrow

Joe Flannery's new book on The Beatles, Standing in The Wings - The Beatles, Brian Epstein And Me, launches tomorrow with a star-studded event at Liverpool's Beatles Story. Joe Flannery has been described as the "Secret Beatle", an integral part of The Beatles" management team during their rise to fame in the early 1960s.

John Lennon Songwriting Contest winner will perform at Beatles festival

The John Lennon Songwriting Contest, open to amateur and professional songwriters from around the world, received over 200 entries. Catherine Feeny of Portland Oregon was selected by a panel of judges as the winner of the contest for her original song titled "Unity," and will perform at this year's Abbey Road on the River festival.

Good Ol' Freda documentary big hit at San Francisco Int'l Film Festival

The new film "Good Ol' Freda," screened tonight at the San Francisco International Film Festival before a full house and was well received. It tells story of how young 17 year old Freda Kelly got her dream job as Brian Epstein's Secretary and then soon after as the "Beatles Fan Club Secretary" to keep up with the growing Beatles fan mail.

Louisiana Beatles fans raise money on St. Paddy's Day

Saturday night hundreds of Beatles fans from North Louisiana gathered at Enoch's Irish Pub in Monroe, LA, home of the "longest running John Lennon Birthday Party in America," to host a jam session to raise funds for the St. Vincent de Paul Pharmacy that provides medicine for those who can't otherwise pay for their critical medical needs.

Distinguished Louisiana lithographer to illustrate Lennon biography

Enoch Doyle Jeter, Instructor in Fine Arts Printmaking at the University Of Louisiana at Monroe has produced a series of 14 original lithographs expressly for Jude Southerland Kessler's new work on John Lennon, She Loves You, the third volume in The John Lennon Series, covering Lennon's life from May 1963 to August 1964.

Beatles best mate Tony Bramwell joins Abbey Road on the River

Organizers of Abbey Road on the River have added former CEO of Apple Records Tony Bramwell to the team as consultant and speaker for the 2013 event. Bramwell grew up in Liverpool with Beatles George, Paul, and John, and is considered to be "The Authority" of all things Beatles. 2013 will mark the 12th year of Abbey Road on the River.

George's sister Louise Harrison hires public relations firm

MoonGlow PR has announced that they have been hired by Louise Harrison, the only sister of George Harrison, to handle all her future public relations. Louise manages the Beatles tribute band Liverpool Legends and is founder of Louise Harrison's Help Keep Music Alive, an organization that raises funds for the music departments of high schools and colleges.

Beatles San Francisco Symphony concert wows Beatles and classical fans

For the first time, the highly esteemed San Francisco Symphony performed an all Beatles program featuring the Beatles tribute band, Classical Mystery Tour, to a sold out audience last night at Davies Symphony Hall. Brits meet Yanks for '60s music symposium on Catalina Island

Last Saturday, the iconic Catalina Island casino was the scene of "The British Invasion Rocks America," a rock 'n' roll symposium, a first of its kind event attended by almost 600 fans sponsored by the Catalina Island Museum. The symposium included Peter Asher, Spencer Davis, Micky Dolenz and pirate radio DJ Emperor Rosko.
