Full-time Beatles music scholar and author Aaron Krerowicz has just released his sixth book, Flip Side Beatles, in a departure from his typical style of publication. Speakers selected for Beatles at the Ridge 2018 Symposium

In celebration of John Lennon's 77th birthday, Lennon expert and biographer, Jude Southerland Kessler announced the Beatles at the Ridge guest speakers for the Beatles Authors and Artists Symposium 2018 in Walnut Ridge, AR. Slated for September 14-15, 2018, it is the educational component for the two-day music festival.

After a one-year hiatus from Beatles at The Ridge, music expert and author, Dr. Kit O'Toole is "back where she belongs." Kit will be leading the noon "Lunch and Learn" for Beatles at The Ridge's "Authors and Artists Symposium" on Saturday, September 16. Dr. O'Toole will talk about the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.

Music component added to Beatles at the Ridge Symposium

In its fifth year as an "Authors and Artists Symposium," the noted Beatles at the Ridge event will, this year, add a rather significant Beatles music component. Known as "The Man with John Lennon's Voice," Alan Bernhoft, will present a remarkable John Lennon concert, and also teen musician Cameron Hicks will perform.

The recording engineer who told off the Beatles

Ken Scott, who worked with the Beatles as a Recording Engineer at EMI, for the first time shared stories of his work on Magical Mystery Tour and the White Album at the recent International BeatleWeek convention. He told the audience how one time he had to yell at the Beatles to shut up, because he couldn't hear the tape he was editing.

Sara Schmidt, author of Happiness is Seeing The Beatles: The Beatles in St. Louis, will be one of the guest authors for Beatles at the Ridge Symposium, Sept. 15-16 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Schmidt will talk about new book she is writing about Beatles Fan Clubs and share the true story of George Harrison's days in Benton, IL in 1963.

Lanea Stagg, author of the Recipe Records cookbook collection, is set to debut her latest in the series, the Rolling Stones-themed Let's Spend the Bite Together, at The Fest for Beatles Fans in Chicago this weekend. The Stones and the Beatles were both breakout acts from England in the '60s, often pitted against one another by the press.

John A. Logan College awards inaugural Imagine Scholarship

Savannah Jennings, a Johnston City high school senior, was awarded the first-ever "Imagine Scholarship" to John A. Logan College in Illinois. The award procedure includes letters of reference, high school transcripts, and a written essay. "I grew up listening to my parents playing music by The Beatles," Jennings said.

Fab 4 Music Festival this Saturday

Only All-Beatles radio station in U.S. celebrates one year anniversary

All-Beatles 890 Yesterday radio celebrated their one-year anniversary last Memorial Day weekend. Last year on May 30, the station launched as "Yesterday," playing the original 193 songs from the 13 UK release Beatles Albums. By July 4, the station had grown to be 890 Yesterday and started playing songs from the Beatles solo careers.

New beatles-themed book slated for release at Beatles festival

Author Lanea Stagg will be releasing a new Beatles-themed coloring book to be available for sale at the Ridge festival in September. "Little Dog at the Ridge" will follow the adventures of Ava, Stagg's famous "Little Dog," as she gets lost in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, where The Beatles landed on their 1964 North American tour.

Lost piece of music history we're dying to see released

"Carnival Of Light" is said to be one of the longest, and most psychedelic of all music recorded by The Beatles. Consisting of distorted guitars, church organs, and screamed phrases from Lennon and McCartney, the track is certainly not something that would be found on any of the group's records, so naturally, we want to hear it.

Beatles at the Ridge 2017 has announced Cevin Soling will be its Featured Filmmaker for the "Beatles Authors and Artists Symposium" in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, on September 16. Is Ringo recording a new album with Peter Frampton?

Ringo Starr posted this on Twitter on Monday: "Back in the studio with the great Peter Frampton thanks for the great day Pete Peace and love," along with a picture of Ringo and Frampton together. Ringo told Billboard last June that he was recording a new studio album for 2017, but there was no mention at the time of Peter Frampton.

John Lennon car sells at auction

A 1956 Austin Princess formerly owned by John Lennon has sold at auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, for $159,500. The sale included the car's original, registration signed by John Lennon. Purchased by Lennon in 1971, the car was seen extensively in his 1972 made-for-TV documentary "Imagine" with Yoko Ono.

New Paul McCartney album anticipated in 2017

After announcing his return to Capitol Records, for whom the Beatles famously recorded, Paul McCartney wrapped up his 2016 tour and began work on his first album since 2013's New, going into the studio with producer Greg Kurstin, known for his work with Adele. "I'll put out my next album, but I won't think I'm gonna sell a lot," he said.
