Beatles scholar's work featured at Australian Capital Symphony

Kenneth Womack, PhD, an internationally renowned authority on the Beatles and their cultural influence, will be featured in the program for the Canberra Symphony Orchestra's "Beatles in Symphony" performance on October 8. Fans will hear many of the familiar tunes in a new way as they are transformed into orchestral suites.

John Lennon Los Angeles birthday bash to benefit pancreatic cancer

Celebrate the birthday of John Lennon at "John Lennon: Working Class Hero," a unique performance taking place October 9, at 1:30 pm at the legendary Crest Theatre in Westwood on the day John would have turned 76. Proceeds from the one-time only concert will go to benefit Pancreatic Cancer research.

Beatles symposium speakers to raise money for local fire department

Guest speakers for the Beatles at the Ridge Authors and Artists Symposium, taking place this weekend, have offered to donate proceeds to a worthy cause in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas where the symposium is being held. "We want to make a difference and leave Walnut Ridge a happier place when we go," said journalist and author Ivor Davis.

Renowned Beatles blogger Sara Schmidt will have a book release party for her recent publication, "Happiness is Seeing The Beatles: The Beatles in St. Louis," on Saturday, September 17, at the Beatles at the Ridge festival. Schmidt will be giving a presentation, as well as signing copies of her book for purchase.

50th anniversary of Beatles in Seattle to be recreated live on Thursday

Seattle's favorite Beatles cover band, Creme Tangerine, will perform the Beatles' 1966 Seattle concert, note for note and in its entirely, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this iconic moment in the city's rock history. RTE Radio One to broadcast Beatles play on Sunday

The national broadcaster in Ireland, RTE Radio One, will broadcast the play "Death and the Beatles Fan" by Stephen Kennedy on Sunday, August 21. The play is a black comedy about what happens when Death attempts to kill a Beatles' fan who really has no interest in dying, basically a Beatles-filled spoof of The Seventh Seal.
