On his official website, a fan asked Paul McCartney, "The holiday season is here, what are some of your favourite family traditions?" Sir Paul answered, "A very Merry Christmas to you! We have many family traditions but favourites include cutting the veggie roast, decorating the tree and having the family all together."

Former George Harrison collaborator at heart of CD

Veteran musician Lon Van Eaton, who once recorded alongside George Harrison while he and his brother, Derrek, were signed to the Beatles' Apple Records label in the early '70s, has produced a 20-song holiday CD titled "Christmastime Has Come to Town."

Rock Rewind: John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War Is Over)

A Christmas song that has turned into a modern classic is John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War Is Over), first released in 1971. Lennon wrote it in 1969 at the height of his peace activism days, it references billboards sponsored by John and Yoko in 12 major cities reading "War Is Over! If you want it - Happy Christmas from John & Yoko".

Let It Be Christmas tells story through Beatles songs

The Epic Theatre Company is now presenting its sixth annual "Let It Be Christmas: The Gospel According to Matthew, Luke, John, Paul, George and Ringo" in Naperville, IL. This original rock opera tells the nativity story in a one-act play set to Beatles music, and features a live band, orchestra and gospel choir.

Beatles Christmas celebrated in London on Sunday

The Christmas London Beatles Day takes place this Sunday at The Sherlock Holmes Hotel in London. There will be the usual top selection of Beatles dealers from all over the UK and beyond. Also featured will be Liverpool authors David Bedford, Kevin Roach and Eric Krasker. Music will be supplied by the very talented Fab Twins.

Celebrities sing Beatles songs at benefit for Toys for Tots

Everyone loves Christmas and everyone loves the Beatles. Why not put them together? On Saturday in Las Vegas, artists including Pia Zadora, Adrian Zmed, Paul Shortino, Skye D. Miles and the Desert Angels Childrens Choir will sing holiday and Beatles songs at the fifth annual benefit for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots program.

It measures the volume of people who've been exposed to the song on the radio. Number 10 on the Billboard 2013 Christmas list is John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War Is Over).

Paul McCartney urges Vladimir Putin

Paul McCartney has put a letter online that he wrote to Vladimir Putin urging him to release who were arrested after a protest at an oil-drilling rig in September. McCartney hopes to have the "misunderstanding resolved".
