John Lennon letter about Keith Moon and Harry Nilsson fetches $88,200

A letter written by John Lennon complaining about Keith Moon and Harry Nilsson's bad conduct at a recording studio has sold almost ?53,000. Lennon was frustrated by the hellraising pair's behaviour in the studio they all shared in Los Angeles in the early 1970s. The note had a pre-sale estimate of ?4,000 to ?6,000.

May Pang questions story about Lennon letter sold at auction

Former John Lennon girlfriend May Pang has problems with the story in the media surrounding the letter said to have been written by John Lennon that was auctioned Friday, because she says it didn't happen that way. "They were not at the studio visiting during the Rock 'n' Roll album at A&M studios. John would not write to Phil, we would call him," said Pang.
