Lennon UFO drawing sells for 10 times expectation

John Lennon says he saw a UFO above the Manhattan skyline in 1974, while sober, and it put it all down on paper. A drawing of that 1974 sighting, sketched for his "Walls and Bridges" album, was auctioned in London on March 21st. The drawing was originally expected to bring in between $1600 to $2500, but ended up selling for just over $16,600.

John Lennon's UFO drawing and other sketches up for auction

In 1974, John Lennon claimed to have seen a UFO in New York City, and mentioned it on the sleeve of his "Walls and Bridges" album. He also drew a picture of a UFO when sketching ideas for the cover of "Walls and Bridges." This rare drawing will be auctioned off along with several other John Lennon sketches from the 1970s.
