| Video: Ringo Starr on his new album |
These days, Ringo and Paul McCartney seem to be treasuring each other. Starr remains touched that Macca showed up at his 70th birthday party at Radio City Music Hall. "I had no idea he was coming," he recalls. "He jumped up to do the Beatle track, Birthday. Nobody told me that he snuck in, and that he rehearsed with the band."

"Ringo 2012" is meant to induce nostalgia for "Ringo" and for Ringo, a musician of limited range and endless charm who doesn't have to do much except show up and pound the skins.

| Review: First single from Ringo 2012 |
Ringo Starr exposes his own Achilles heel on his first single from Ringo 2012. The track Wings is a less passionate, border-line lifeless vocal performance of a previously released song from the 1977 Ringo the 4th album, and the singer is drowned out for much of the three-and-a-half minute track.
