Director announced for Brian Epstein biopic

The Fifth Beatle, a biopic about Beatles manager Brian Epstein, will begin shooting next year. Director Peyton Reed, whose credits include Yes Man, The Break-Up and Bring It On, will helm the film. Based on Vivek J. Tiwary's graphic novel, it will be the first-ever film about the Beatles to secure music rights to the Lennon-McCartney catalog.

The Fifth Beatle makes NY Times Best Seller List

Since The Fifth Beatle launched from Dark Horse Comics on Nov. 19, it's been making the rounds of mainstream news because of its subject matter, the life and times of Beatles manager Brian Epstein. By November 30th, the graphic novel appeared on the New York Times Best Seller List at #5 in the category of hardback graphic novels.

Fifth Beatle movie will go back to Fab Four's Liverpool roots

The man behind a US film project about Brian Epstein has pledged to shoot as much as the movie as possible in Liverpool. Vivek J. Tiwary said, "We suspect most of our cast and crew will be Liverpool and London based. The intention is very much to shoot as much as we can in Liverpool and in London."

Graphic novel colors in life of Beatles manager Brian Epstein

He was so influential in the success of John, Paul, George and Ringo that he was often referred to as the fifth Beatle. Brian Epstein discovered the Liverpool quartet in 1961 when they weren't even the biggest musical act in the city. By the time he died in 1967 in his Westminster home, they were the biggest band in the world.

The Fifth Beatle comic book to launch in Italy

A new graphic novel about the Beatles will debut in Italy as part of the 10th anniversary of the country's Rolling Stone magazine. The Fifth Beatle hits shelves next week, three weeks before its official release on November 13. It chronicles the early years of the Beatles, seen through the eyes of their manager Brian Epstein.
