Front Page > Beatles NewsApple Jam to perform unreleased Beatles songs
SEATTLE, Wash. – Apple Jam's upcoming CD titled "Off the Beatle Track" showcases early Lennon/McCartney compositions released by others, but never by Beatles while they were together. Instead, the songs were given to British contemporaries like Billy J. Kramer, Cilla Black, and Peter & Gordon. These artists in turn produced a sizable body of hits including "Bad to Me", "A World Without Love", and "I'll Be on My Way" -- proving the quality and timeless nature of the Beatles songwriting and music. Interestingly, the Beatles first considered titling their debut album "Off the Beatle Track", but later decided on "Please Please Me". Select songs from "Off the Beatle Track" will be performed live at Apple Jam's Beatles and solo years tribute concert benefiting Music Works Northwest, presented by Roseta Productions, at the Triple Door in Seattle on January 11, 2008.

The rock veterans of Apple Jam are embodying each track with an authentic Beatles sound, as if the Liverpool lads had released these songs themselves circa 1963. "We are using the same microphones, gear, and studio techniques of the period to make the album sound just like an early Beatles record," says Rick Lovrovich, Apple Jam's founding member. "Off the Beatle Track" is slated for release in January 2008.
Apple Jam's 2007 version of "I'll Keep You Satisfied", go was originally released in 1963 by Billy J. Kramer and reached #4 on the UK charts while the Beatles' "She Loves You" enjoyed the #1 position. John Lennon was present at the recording.
Apple Jam has created a buzz amongst rock music fans in Seattle, masterfully performing Beatles and solo years classics. Apple Jam has headlined many highly acclaimed concerts (e.g. "John Lennon Jam", "George Harrison Jam") at such venues as The Crocodile Café, Neumos, The Bathhouse on Green Lake, and soon The Triple Door. Apple Jam was founded in 2005, in support of Seattle Public Theater's 2006 world premiere of "(Just Like) Starting Over", a stage play based on John Lennon's final interview. Apple Jam's member musicians are: Rick Lovrovich (bass, lead vocals), Jon Bolton (drums, lead vocals), Mike Mattingly (guitar, vocals), Johnny Jones (keyboards, vocals) and Doug Kilishek (guitar, vocals) – of the Beatniks, Herding Cats, and Ecstasy in Numbers.
