Convention for Beatles fans in Connecticut later this month

"BEATexpo 2009," a convention for Beatles fans, will "come together" on Saturday, November 28th and Sunday, November 29th, 2009 at the Holiday Inn Downtown Stamford, 700 E. Main Street in Stamford, CT.

The event features special guests and concerts by tribute bands "The Beatles Forever Band," "Octopus's Garden," "The A-Z Beatles Songbook Show," "Charlie Guitar" and "Rotary." Collectors will be able to shop at a rock & roll flea market/memorabilia marketplace. Fans will get to watch rare videos. There will special exhibits and displays, a "penny" auction and many other features, events and attractions.

Just added! Legendary 60's singer Spanky McFarlane sang lead as the front-person in the sixties band Spanky & Our Gang, with such hits as "Sunday Will Never Be The Same," "Give a Damn," "Sunday Morning" and "I'd Like To Get To Know You." She later replaced Mama Cass in The Mamas & The Papas (who had a hit with The Beatles' "I Call Your Name"). She also recorded "And Your Bird Can Sing." One of Spanky's dearest friends, Dinky Dawson, is a legendary figure in the music field, recognized as the "sound-man to the stars." He was rumored to be on the Apple rooftop with The Beatles.

Both guests have never appeared at such a convention for fans before. Also newly added is Rich Pagano of The Fab Faux, who will signing copies of his new solo CD. They join the current star-filled line-up of "BEATexpo 2009" coming to the Downtown Stamford (CT) Holiday Inn November 28-29, for what is turning out to be the year's most highly-anticipated music and celebrity festival, in celebration of the music of The Beatles and their era.

Special guests of honor will be on hand to meet fans, take photos and sign autographs, and all autographs are free. Here is the guest-list for BEATexpo:

  • Shannon (Beatles artist, painted the rooms of Liverpool's "Hard Day's Night Hotel")
  • Dwight Rounds (author, "The Year The Music Died," "Animals to Zombies")

The Special Pre-Show Concert Event on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 8pm will features concerts sets, special guests appearances and all main-stage attractions. Tickets are only $15.00 advance or $20 at the door (if not sold out in advance). Advance tickets available at beatexpo.ticketleap.com/BEATexpo. It is this Special Pre-Show Concert Event where Peter Tork, Greg Hawkes and some of the other special guests/bands will be performing live on stage in the ballroom.

"Ticket to Ride" All-Day Passes for Sunday (Noon-8pm) are only $15.00 in advance or $20.00 at the door (if the event isn't sold out in advance) general admission. There is also a special EARLY-BIRD V.I.P. admission which gets fans and collectors in at 11am for first crack at the vendors/dealers/exhibitors ($30.00), and they may stay on all day.
