The ladies of Barneston WI Hall kindly greeted our tour group with tea and biscuits this afternoon on our vist to the Margaret Milner Hall in Cheshire, Wirral where the Beatles played 46 years ago on March 24th, 1962, wearing their newly tailored collarless suits that Brian had recently purchased for them.
The visit for tea/coffee and biscuits by the gracious ladies of the Barneston WI Hall was amongst the highlights of the 6 day VIP Paul McCartney tour apart from last night's Paul McCartney concert at Anfield stadium.
The Margaret Milner Hall is relatively unchanged since 1962, the stage where the Beatles performed remains, along with the dressing room where they changed, and the ladies were able recently to locate a copy of the original poster for the historic March 24th, 1962, concert.
It was lovely to visit this place, see the Wirral countryside, have tea and biscuits and chat with the ladies, includng Barneston WI Hall President Eileen Lamberton and Pam Witter. Visting this place was also a great opportunity to see the otherside of Merseyside, the Wirral, which features scenic countryside and near where Paul had moved his late father to a new house in 1964.
Don't miss out on making a visit to this historic venue where the Beatles played for your next trip to Liverpool!
