Good news for fans of the longest running Beatles show in America, Breakfast with the Beatles, on 95.5 KLOS in Los Angeles, hosted by Beatles expert Chris Carter!
Satellite radio Sirius XM announced today that Breakfast with the Beatles with Chris Carter will now be heard every Sunday at 9 am to Noon, ET on Little Steven's Underground Garage Sirius channel 25!
That means that Beatles fans in the Los Angeles area will be able to hear Chris and Breakfast with the Beatles for six full hours, first on Sirius from 6 am to 9 am local time, and then continuing on over at KLOS, starting at 9 am Pacific time!
Chris says the KLOS show will remain the same, with exciting guest interviews every week, and the Sirius show will be more music oriented. Chris told me, "The content will be basically the same, except that we will tend to Rock 'n' Roll a bit more in the Garage!"
Chris told me how this new partnership between Breakfast with the Beatles and Sirius came about. He said, "Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius is my all time favorite radio station. Little Steven has been a guest a few times on the show. During his last time on we did a thing called The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones, and after the show Steven asked if I'd like to take the show into the Underground Garage, and of course I said YES SIR!"
Why hasn't Sirius had a show like this before? Chris told me, "There is a rule on satellite radio about playing the same artist more than 3 times in a three hour period, so we had to get a special license from EMI/Apple, which we did."
About the new show, Little Steven said, "It's an honor to have Chris on our channel. We already play more Beatles music than any other radio channel so it fits in perfectly. Chris hosts the original Breakfast with the Beatles, which started 25 years ago and is often imitated but the original has never been equaled. He belongs with us!"
And Chris says, "The Beatles saved Rock'n'Roll and Little Steven saved Rock'n'Roll radio. I'm honored to bring the world's greatest band to the world's greatest station."
You can hear Chris Carter on Breakfast with the Beatles on Sirius channel 25 beginning this Sunday, September 14 at 9:00 am ET.
