During a brief 10 minute visit outside of John Lennon's childhood home in Liverpool on Menlove Avenue known as "Mendips" today, no fewer than 3 tour buses and 5 taxis, minibuses and private cars drove up to John's home. There were so many visitors that an icecream truck was parked outside doing a brisk business.

As you can see from the photo, many fans left at the car park gate roses, cards, notes and mementos celebrating John's 70th birthday today and the sun is still shining this afternoon which doesn't happen too often in cloudy England.

Happy 70th birthday, John!
