Breakfast With The Beatles, with Chris Carter on 95.5 KLOS in Los Angeles, has announced that starting this Sunday, June 1, the charming and wonderful May Pang will be the new voice of This Week In Beatles News.
May will be giving the week's Beatles News live from New York City, each Sunday morning during the show's 10 o'clock hour.
May, of course, was John Lennon's main squeeze/constant companion/paramour -- they were all but married -- for almost two years in the mid-70's. She was art director and project coordinator (and back?up singer) for Lennon's number-one "Walls and Bridges" album, and worked with him on a number of projects including "Mind Games," "Rock 'n' Roll," and Harry Nilsson's "Pussy Cats," which Lennon produced.
May (not surprisingly) has considerable knowledge of all things Beatles and Chris says they are looking forward to having her as part of the Breakfast With The Beatles morning team.
Breakfast With The Beatles is America's longest running Beatles radio show, celebrating 25 years on the air this year. It can be heard every Sunday morning from 9am to noon on 95.5 KLOS in Los Angeles. Click here for more information on the show.

May Pang greets crowd at book signing in New Jersey

May Pang gave a brief overview and highlights at a crowded booksigning about the story of the photos she took during her 18 months spent with John Lennon that have been published in her new book, "Instamatic Karma: Photographs of John Lennon", last weekend at the Clifton, New Jersey, Barnes and Noble bookstore, just minutes from the 2008 Fest for Beatles Crown Plaza hotel.
Her new book dispels the "Lost Weekend" myth that John was unhappy or "lost" when he was with her. The photos show John enjoying life with May and John's friends and loved ones and May said John had encouraged her to take pictures of him using her Kodak camera. She displayed several enlarged pictures taken of John published in the book and discussed when each picture was taken and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Pictures of John's friends such as Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr are included. She discussed that Paul was a frequent visitor and that when John first started seeing Paul again, he picked up his friendship with Paul where they left off, as if they hadn't stopped seeing each other because of the Beatles breakup.
May revealed that John and she "fled NYC" to Los Angeles to get away from Harry Nillson who was having an adverse affect on John because of Nillson's excessive partying, and so John could continue work on his new album.
She talked about the time that John was pacing back and forth at the airport waiting for Julian to arrive after not having seen Julian for 4 years since John had left England for New York City. She didn't take any pictures of their reunion but said it was very emotional for them.
May was particularly proud of having taken a picture of John that he used for the picture sleeve for the UK "Imagine" single that was released on her birthday.

May Pang is scheduled to appear at two venues in New Jersey this Friday and Sunday, to sign her new book, Instamatic Karma. This is the same weekend as Beatlefest at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.
On Friday, March 28, May will be signing at 8:00 PM at The Raconteur Books, 431 Main Street Metuchen, New Jersey. On Sunday, March 30, she will be at the Barnes & Noble, 395 Route 3 East, Clifton, New Jersey, at 4:00 PM.
The photos by May Pang in Instamatic Karma portray a lighthearted Lennon, blithe, flirtatious, casual and unguarded; they're the kind of photos one lover takes of another. They show Lennon clowning around, working on his hit album "Walls and Bridges", embracing old friends and family, hanging out in their apartment on Manhattan's East 52nd Street, relaxing in the country in upstate New York or spending peaceful days swimming in the waters of Long Island.
May will be signing books, doing a reading and taking questions at both venues.
