Beatles Artist to do live painting of John Lennon in NYC

October 6, 2010 -- On Saturday, October 9th, the day John Lennon would have turned 70, Shannon - the World's Greatest Beatles Artist will step into the window at 25CPW Gallery in New York City from 8-11 pm with her paints and brushes to create image on canvas of her vision of what John Lennon may have looked like in 2010.

On hand to assist Shannon will be friends and colleagues of Lennon's to advise her in determining how Lennon may have presented himself had he lived to celebrate his 70th birthday.

After completion, the painting will immediately go on sale and remain on display throughout the weekend for guests visiting the gallery.

"Seven Face of John" by Shannon

Also on display will be Shannon's most famous Beatles art including paintings from her famous 112-piece collection at the Liverpool-based, Hard Day's Night Hotel.

"I am happy to be working with such as an extremely talented individual as Shannon and I look forward to many future successful events worldwide", says Marina Deco, the shows curator.

25CPW Gallery is located at 25 Central Park West (at 62nd St.), NY, NY. Gallery hours for this show will be Friday: 12-6 pm, Saturday: 11 am-11 pm, Sunday: 12-6 pm, Monday: 10 am-6 pm

Shannon's artwork has been mistaken for photographs for years. Her painting, 'Seven Faces of John' is a testimonial to that fact. For this reason, she creates her paintings "live" at all of her shows. Those that have watched her paintings come to life are simply astonished at how the artist can start with a blank canvas and then create a photographic style portrait in just 2-3 hours.

In 1996 Shannon (MacDonald) was flown to Liverpool, England to meet the Lord Mayor and was officially titled and declared, "The World's Greatest Beatles Artist". Since then she has received the title, Official Artist of The Cavern Club, last year she was inducted into The Cavern Club Hall of Fame, and her artwork will appear as the official backdrop of the "Lennon Remembered Concert" at Liverpool's Echo Arena on December 9, 2010.
