Thousands descend on beach for Danny Boyle filming

Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle enlisted the help of 5,000 people on Wednesday on the beach of Gorleston, England, to be extras in his latest film, which imagines a world in which The Beatles did not exist. He told the extras from the roof of the Pier Hotel, "Remember where you are, you will definitely be in the film!"

English seaside town prepares for Danny Boyle's Beatles movie filming

Danny Boyle and his movie-making machine have set up a large tent in Bradwell near Great Yarmouth, England. Mill Lane's playing field, its car park and buildings have been taken over by the production team. The Oscar-winning director was seen chatting with crew at the site which looked to be decked out ready for a celebration.

Ed Sheeran films his scenes for Danny Boyle's new Beatles movie

Ed Sheeran has reportedly filmed the scenes for his small role in Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis' new comedy, which is inspired by The Beatles' music, on Tuesday in Liverpool. The film is yet to be titled, but it will apparently feature a man who wakes up and finds the only songs he can remember are by The Beatles.

Danny Boyle spotted filming on Penny Lane for new Beatles film

Director Danny Boyle and former Eastenders actor Himesh Patel have been spotted filming for a new Richard Curtis romantic comedy on Penny Lane in Liverpool. Although no firm details have been released about the film, the pair have been rumored to be working on a movie about the Fab Four tentatively titled All You Need is Love.

7,400 people sign up for concert in Danny Boyle Beatles film

An appeal for thousands of unpaid extras to appear in a movie has already exceeded its target, within 24 hours. Director Danny Boyle has recently been spotted shooting a Beatles-inspired film across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. The concert scene will be filmed on Gorleston beach in Norfolk on June 27.

Five thousand extras are being sought to appear in a "Beatles-inspired" film directed by Danny Boyle. A tweet from the makers of the film said that 5,000 extras were being sought for a "brilliant concert on Gorleston beach". The company will also be seeking an audience for a "concert scene" in Liverpool on June 5.

Gorleston stars in Danny Boyle's Beatles film

The movie world has moved to Gorleston as hit film maker Danny Boyle set up shop in the town in Norfolk, England, to shoot scenes. It was thought wedding scenes were shot at several locations in the town. Main filming in the town will be next week when a night shoot is due to take place, leading to road closures by the seafront.

A cafe, pub and car park in Halesworth, England, will be used for filming on Wednesday. Filming has already taken place in Essex, with more to come in Suffolk and Norfolk.

Lucky locals got the chance to appear as extras during filming in Clacton yesterday, before moving up the coast to Frinton. Yesterday the crew were staying tight-lipped about the film.

Ed Sheeran rumoured for film about The Beatles never existing

Ed Sheeran is reportedly set to make an onscreen cameo in a new film set in a world where The Beatles never existed, and also provide music for the soundtrack. The Mail On Sunday reports that the singer-songwriter will appear in the new musical comedy project thought to be tentatively titled All You Need Is Love.

School in England to take starring role in Beatles film

Director Danny Boyle has given a high school in Norfolk, England, a starring role in his new film, and some of the pupils could be cast as extras. Photographs for roles were due to take place at Acle Academy on Thursday as the big screen beckons for the school and its community. On Facebook the school said it was "absolutely thrilled."

Danny Boyle filming a Beatles musical

Powerhouse film-makers Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis are joining forces to make a picture built around the music of The Beatles. Boyle, who won an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire, will direct the film which has the tentative title of All You Need Is Love, although London-based studio Working Title has insisted that the secretive project is still untitled.
