Talented couple to headline Beatles at the Ridge
Walnut Ridge, Arkansas -- Doyle and Yvette Jeter of Monroe, Louisiana are happily married Beatles fans, and as their passion for "all things Beatle" has morphed into artistic expression, both will be featured at Beatles at the Ridge in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, September 15-16.
Doyle Jeter, Artist in Residence at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, is the Featured Artist for the two-day music festival and Beatles Symposium.
In keeping with the theme of "The Summer of Love," Doyle will direct two exciting Art Happenings on Saturday, September 16. The morning event will encourage elementary-aged children to paint a silk-screen banner of The Beatles. They will be encouraged to express their feelings about the Beatles music to which they'll be listening.
Then, that afternoon middle school and high school students will be given the same challenge on a separate silk screen canvas with The Beatles images imprinted on it.

"We want the students to draw, paint, letter...to express themselves in any medium about the boys from Liverpool and their music," Doyle said. "And it's very cool that both banners will hang in Walnut Ridge throughout 2017 in the exact same building where The Argenta Collection of rare Beatles photos is housed year-round."
Yvette Jeter will be exhibiting her "Peace and Love" themed hand-made soaps, candles, massage oils, body oils, and potpourri created from local herbs and fruits grown in the Louisiana/Arkansas area. Her business, Ma Mere Potpourri, has blossomed in 2016-2017, and she will chat with visitors to the festival about the importance of essential oils for mental and physical health. Yvette will have a booth just off Abbey Road on Saturday, September 16.
And both Doyle and Yvette will be available to answer questions and talk about their art in The Studio on Main Street on Friday night, September 15.
"Doyle was our Featured Artist two years ago," Jude Southerland Kessler, Chairman of The Beatles at the Ridge Symposium stated, "and I've been trying to twist his arm into coming back again. He's fantastic with kids of all ages! It'll be so much fun for young Beatles fans to work with Doyle creating something that will be a permanent art piece for the city of Walnut Ridge!"
"We're equally excited about Yvette Jeter joining us as one of our unique vendors," Mayor Charles Snapp, BATR Founder and Director, commented. "One thing that visitors have requested is more vendors...and this year we're adding some of the very best in the area. Yvette is exactly that!"
